Carolina Village receives clean report card from regulators

Carolina Village obtained a Deficiency-Free Annual Survey from the North Carolina Department of Health last week after state regulators completed an annual inspection, the retirement center announced.

Hendersonville’s only Type-A LifeCare Continuing Care Retirement Community with 45 years of senior care experience, Carolina Village offereds a full continuum of care for seniors — from independent living to assisted living and skilled nursing – on its 96-acre campus. A 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Carolina Village provides housing, continuing life care, up-to-date service, and a pleasant, congenial social environment to encourage personal growth and community participation without regard to race or religious persuasion.

NCDOH surveys, or annual inspections, ensure that skilled nursing facilities comply with state regulations. Surveys are conducted on a no-notice basis and consist of an examining of these areas: resident care, policies and procedures, medication administration, medical records, kitchen sanitation, staff competencies, dietary needs, safety and equipment, fitness, and adequacy of the community. The survey’s ultimate purpose is to ensure that residents are receiving the highest levels of care and quality of life.
