Opponent of Article V Convention of States speaks to GOP club

A lawyer/blogger who opposes the convening of an Article V Convention of States will be guest speaker at the Henderson County Republican Men’s Club Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, at the Dixie Diner in Laurel Park.

Joanna Martin, who blogs as "Publius Huldah," is a former U.S. Army captain in the JAG Corps, a retired litigator and writer and speaker on the U.S. Constitution. She works to stop state legislators from passing the Article V Convention which calls for a Convention of States.

“We’ve never had a convention under Article V – they are dangerous!" she has written. "If Congress calls an Article V convention, our existing Constitution could be replaced with a new Constitution which sets up a completely new structure of government.”

Beginning in June, the Henderson County Republican Men’s Club Breakfast will be held at the Cascades Hotel on Sugarloaf Road. A breakfast buffet will be offered. The charge is $10 cash. Breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m.
