'Council Conversations' resume

Hendersonville City Council members are venturing outside the traditional council meeting room to participate in ‘Council Conversations’ across the city.

This marks the fourth year council members have hosted collaborative meetings in different areas of the community.

“We enjoy creating opportunities for residents to connect with their elected officials,” said Hendersonville Mayor Barbara Volk. “Our City Council values open communication and transparency, and these meetings provide an additional way for us to connect with citizens, hear their concerns, and work toward solutions.”
Each meeting will last approximately one hour and will be hosted by an individual member of the City Council. Various city staff members will also be available to answer questions and provide information on city services and programs.
Council Conversations are scheduled for the following dates and locations:

  • Sept. 14: The Center for Art & Entertainment 125 S. Main St., hosted by Mayor Barbara Volk
  • Sept. 21: Health Sciences Center, 805 6th Avenue W., hosted by Mayor Pro Tempore Jerry Smith.
  • Sept. 28: Hendersonville Police Station, 630 Ashe St., hosted by Council Member Jeff Miller
  • Oct. 12, Whitmire Center, 310 Lily Pond Dr., hosted by Council Member Lyndsey Simpson
  • Oct. 19, Ebenezer Baptist Church Fellowship Hall 2557 Chimney Rock Road, hosted by Council Member Jennifer Hensley

Meetings will follow the hosting facility’s capacity and mask guidelines in place at the time of the meeting. Attendees are encouraged to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations regarding social distancing and face coverings to prevent Covid-19 transmission.
