School Board forum is set

The League of Women Voters and Henderson County Public School Strong are co-sponsoring a Henderson County School Board candidate forum at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 29, at the Hendersonville Theater, 229 S. Washington St.

Candidates running to fill three seats are Democrats Reid Barwick and Mary Ellen Kustin, Republican incumbents Shelia Dale and Alyssa Norman, Republican Randall Beaver and Debbie Roundtree, a write-in candidate certified by the Board of Elections. All candidates have been invited to attend. The forum will be moderated by McCray Benson, the recently retired president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Henderson County.

The largest employer in the county, the school system has an enrollment of 12,000 students in 23 schools.
