Elections board announces winners of 'I Voted' sticker design

Old Glory, an apple and an excellent rendering of the Historic Courthouse are featured in the winning designs of "I Voted" stickers for this year's general election on Nov. 3.

Henderson County Board of Elections announced the winners of its Sticker Design Contest on Tuesday. Students across Henderson County submitted original artwork for a chance to have their design featured on the official “I Voted” sticker given to voters at the polls this fall.

After student artists from four age groups submitted designs, a panel of judges selected one winner from each group.

The Board of Elections thanked the schools that participated in the contest:
• Henderson County public schools
• The Bridge
• The Way
• Miracle Hope Homeschool Academy
• Carolina Day School
• Trinity of Fairview Academy
• Fernleaf
• Imago Dei Classical Academy
• Mountain Community School
• Captain Gilmer School
• Homeschool
The board also thanked the volunteer judges who gave their time to review submissions and select the winners, the Henderson County League of Women Voters for their partnership in organizing the contest and the county Democratic and Republican parties for promoting the contest and encouraging youth participation.

“This kind of nonpartisan collaboration reflects the spirit of civic engagement the Board hopes to inspire in voters of every age,” the elections board said in a news release.
