A month early, Ezekiel is first born at Advent in 2024

Ezekiel surprised his mom and dad by making his debut a month early while making the record books as the first baby of 2024 at AdventHealth, the hospital announced. Born at 7:27 a.m. on New Year's Day,  Ezekiel is the son of Kassie Concord and Kevin Gutierrez.

When Kassie arrived at the hospital, The Baby Place team of nurses and OB hospitalists determined Ezekiel was breech. Because the Baby Place has a board-certified obstetrician on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Kassie was able to quickly have the c-section she needed to safely welcome her healthy baby boy. First-time parents, Kassie and Kevin expressed thanks for the support of the team at The Baby Place.

“I have never been through anything like this," Kassie said, "but the nurses and doctors are incredible and helped me through all of it."

Ezekiel’s family say they're wondering what great things life has in store for their son that made him in such a hurry to arrive. For now, they are thrilled to be getting to know their newborn and celebrating his very special arrival to start the new year with great hope and happiness.
