Winter storm expected to bring 3-7 inches of snow Saturday night

The winter event should begin with rain around sunset changing to a mix of snow and sleetbefore 2 a.m. and then snow until 4 a.m., th National Weather Service. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 7 inches is possible.

The high Saturday should be around 45, forecasters said, with lows overnight dropping to 32. A 30 percent chance of snow persists until 7 a.m. Sunday followed by a high near 43 and clearing skies.

The threat of wintry weather doesn't end this weekend. There's a chance of a mix of rain and snow overnight Tuesday through Friday.
