Miriam Smith wins $225,000 Davidson scholarship

Miriam Smith is one of five high school seniors to win a James B. Duke Scholarship to Davidson College.

Duke scholars are chosen based on academic achievement, concern for others, diverse talent and experience, potential for impact, resilience and work ethic. The scholarship covers full tuition and fees and also provides a $5,000 stipend for summer travel and enrichment for a total value of $225,000 over four years. A 2021 graduate of Hendersonville High School, Miriam is the daughter of Dr. Anne Smith and Jerry Smith.
