Rhythm & Brews returns on Thursday

The Rhythm & Brews Concert Series returns Thursday for the first time since 2019.

Presented by Horizon Heating & Air, the free outdoor concerts will start July and run through October on the third Thursday of each month with craft beer and hard cider, food trucks and kid’s activities. The concerts at the south end of Main Street close the blocks between Allen and Caswell streets.

Andrew Thelston Band opens the show at 5:30 p.m. followed by Abby Bryant & The Echoes, who will play from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Thelston is known for his unique blend of guitar-heavy rock, big grooves, soaring vocals, and passionate live performances. For the past two years, his power trio has been mesmerizing crowds throughout the southeast with his brand of high energy, rock n roll. Drummer Jeff Lott and bassist Roddy Wilder create a rock-solid foundation for Thelston to weave a tapestry of epic guitar and vocal work.  Andrew Thelston recently had his music featured on the hit Netflix show Lucifer.

Built around a powerful voice and hard-driving rock ‘n’ soul rhythm section, Asheville's Abby Bryant & The Echoes has secured a fast-growing foothold in the Southeast music scene. Founded by Bryant (vocals, keys) and Bailey Faulkner (guitar), the two formed the band out of distinctly different musical upbringings. Listeners will find it hard not to hear similarities to some of the artists that inspire the two including currently touring acts Tedeschi Trucks Band, Grace Potter, and Sister Sparrow and The Dirty Birds.

Here's the lineup for the rest of the season:

  • Aug. 19: Jamie McLean Band with opener Hustle Souls
  • Sept. 16: Mike and the Moonpies with opener Kenny George Band
  • Oct. 21: The Broadcast

Opening acts will kick off each evening at 5:30 p.m. followed by the headliner performance from 7:30-9:30 p.m. R&B event organizers will adhere to any and all government mandates regarding Covid-19.

For the youngest in the family, the Hands On! Kids Zone will provide kid-friendly activities. Meanwhile, adults can enjoy downtown Hendersonville’s first fully integrated beer and wine garden featuring locally crafted drinks from Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Triskelion Brewing Co., Guidon Brewing Co., Oklawaha Brewing Co., D9 Brewing Co., Dry Falls Brewery, Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards, Flat Rock Cider Company and Bold Rock Hard Cider.
