The League of Women Voters of Henderson County is hosting a candidate meet-and-greet on Saturday, Oct. 1, and a School Board candidate forum Saturday, Oct. 8, ahead of the Nov. 8 general election.
The meet-and-greet for all legislative and Henderson County local office candidates will be noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the large pavilion at Patton Park, 1730 Asheville Highway. Each candidate will have a table to display materials and to speak with constituents. The forum for all School Board candidates is scheduled for 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the City Operations Center, 305 Williams St.
Paul Goebel, a retired Henderson County teacher and a member of the League of Women Voters, will moderate the forum, during which attendees will be invited to submit questions. Following the Q&A, voters can speak individually with candidates.
Voters may also visit the league's website, Vote411.org, for information on candidates as well as information on voting in general.
