Health Department announces drive-thru flu shots

In partnership with Henderson County public schools, the Henderson County Department of Public Health will be providing afterschool drive-through flu vaccine clinics at local high schools throughout October.

The flu vaccine will be offered to children, staff and parents in Henderson County Public Schools – as well as the general public – on the following dates:

  • 3-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Innovative High School
  • 3:30-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Hendersonville High School
  • 3:30-6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at West Henderson High School
  • 3:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at East Henderson High School

School staff and family members may visit any drive-through clinic regardless of which school in the county they or their children attend. No appointment is needed.

Only the flu injection (shot) will be offered. Visit www.HendersonCountyFlu.org to download, print and fill out a consent form required to receive the vaccine.

The Health Department will accept insurance, Medicaid or cash/check only. Insurance companies in-network with the Health Department are listed at www.HendersonCountyFlu.org. The out-of-network cost is $43 cash or check only. Those without insurance are eligible to receive the vaccine at no cost.
