Kanuga taking reservations for Easter brunch

Kanuga invites the community to celebrate spring with an Easter brunch from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sunday, April 9.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the grounds and trails before or after the meal. Kanuga’s hiking trails will be open, as well as Daisy’s Lake Trail, which is an easy walk encircling Kanuga Lake. In addition, Kanuga Lake’s waterfront will be open for swimming and boating from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., with canoes and kayaks available, weather permitting.
“It’s the perfect time of year to visit Kanuga,” said the Rev. Michael Sullivan, Kanuga’s CEO, “We know that Easter traditions are special, and that enjoying the outdoors can be a big part of that. Kanuga chefs have prepared a wonderful brunch menu and we invite everyone to bring family and friends to break bread together.”

The brunch buffet features rosemary beef tenderloin, brown sugar and maple ham, spring frittata, fresh fruit, asparagus, salad bar, and more, topped off with homemade lemon bars and iced blueberry biscuits. Mimosas and Bloody Marys will be available as well. Guests may enjoy the meal in the dining room, at outside tables, or on the Rocking Chair Porch.
“We encourage you to bring a blanket if you’d like to make it a picnic on the grounds,” says Kanuga Inn & Lodging general manager Ta’alolo Pa’u. “A great place to do that is on the grassy slope overlooking the lake,” he says.
The cost, which includes the buffet as well as access to the grounds for the day, is $49 per adult (13 and over), not including alcohol; $21 per child (3-12); and free to guests 3 and under. To make brunch reservations, call 828-692-9136 by Tuesday, April 3.
