SALUDA — City officials welcomed a new business — the Back Alley Barn “Saluda’s Tavern” — on Saturday with a ribbon cutting. Mayor Tangie Morgan and Saluda Business Association President Marc Blazar wished owners Josh and Taylor Holmes the best of luck while friends, family and patrons looked on.
This is the second business venture for the Holmeses, who also own Ward’s Grill at 24 East Main Street. The tavern is located behind the grill. While the business is new, it occupies a barn built in 1913. The Taylors have renovated the bar and added a large, shady deck. Saluda’s Tavern will offer beer, wine, mixed drinks, bar fare, live music and TV screens showing sports channels.
Josh and Taylor Holmes, who have more than 30 years’ experience in restaurants, re-opened Ward’s Grill in May 2022. Saluda’s Tavern hours are 4 p.m.-midnight Thursday and Friday, noon to midnight Saturday and noon-10 p.m. Sunday.
