Readers again pick Hendersonville as top mountain retirement town

Hendersonville has once again racked up awards for its appeal as a retirement town and for its downtown.

In Blue Ridge Country magazine’s 2023 Best of the Mountains reader poll, the city placed first as Best Retirement Town and Best Revitalized Downtown and second in Friendliest Town and Best Fall (nonmusic-focused) Festival, for the N.C. Apple Festival.
The Roanoke, Va.-based travel magazine conducts its poll every five years with this year’s survey featuring 48 categories. A complete list of winners is presented in the 2023 July/August 35th anniversary issue of Blue Ridge Country, available on newsstands in mid-June.
