Mountain 1st wins state honor for United Way effort

Mountain 1st Bank & Trust was presented the Spirit of North Carolina Award for Campaign Excellence at United Way of North Carolina's Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon on Friday, Feb. 15, in Pinehurst.

Nominated for the award by United Way of Henderson County, Mountain 1st recorded a 60 percent increase in dollars raised and had 99 percent of its employees participating. The bank presented a check for $26,000 to United Way of Henderson County at the Campaign Kickoff Celebration last September.
"Mountain 1st has achieved campaign excellence and we are proud to recognize them with this award," said Laresa Griffin, Director of Resource Development and Marketing at UWHC. "Strong, visible support from CEO Mike Mayer and outstanding campaign coordination by Diane Grant, along with generous employees who care deeply about our community, made it happen. Their campaign was fun, educational and inspiring, resulting in this impactful contribution to the community."
The Spirit of North Carolina Awards are sponsored annually by United Way of North Carolina. The Spirit Awards provide statewide recognition for outstanding commitment and support to communities through local United Way involvement.
