Steady stream of voters turns out as early voting begins

Hendersonville resident Doris Beall took advantage of the first day of early voting to cast her ballot in Henderson County on Thursday.

Voters have one last chance on Saturday to cast a balllot before Election Day, with early voting open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Board of Elections, 75 East Central St.


Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day on March 5. Go here to see sample ballots.

Voters are asked to show a valid photo ID to vote in the election. Registered voters without a photo ID are allowed to have an acceptable ID made at the Board of Elections when they arrive to vote.

Here are deadlines voters need to know for the March 5 primary election:

  • Early voting ends: 3 p.m. Saturday, March 2.
  • Last day to return an absentee ballot by mail: 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5.
  • Primary election: 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5.
  • County canvass: 11 a.m. Friday, March 15.
