Report: Barnwell family conserves more Bearwallow Mountain land

The Barnwell family has conserved an additional 84 acres on Bearwallow Mountain, the Citizen-Times reports.

 

The Asheville newspaper said the transaction will ensure the conservation of land surrounding a popular hiking trail with its "sweeping views and create a critical link in a regional trail system that will eventually connect Upper Hickory Nut Gorge to Chimney Rock State Park."
