DAR announces essay contest winner

The DAR announced the winner of its essay contest on the topic, "Forgotten Patriots who Supported the American Struggle for Independence."

Gianna Gerard, a student at Heritage Hall International School, won on the local level and was also the District I winner for the North Carolina State Society of DAR. A total of six students participated from the same school and were also recognized at the February meeting of the DAR, the Daughters of the American Revolution.
