League program explores benefits of plant-based diet

The Henderson County League of Women Voters and the Hendersonville Community Co-op invite the public to a lunch-and-learn program, Eat To Beat The Heat: The Link Between Food and Climate Change, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at First Congregational Church, 1735 Fifth Ave. W.


Ted Volskay, an environmental consultant for more than 30 years, will address how a plant-based diet can help the environment. Attendees are encouraged to bring a sandwich but will also be served samples of vegan salads prepared by the Hendersonville Community Co-op, the program's co-sponsor.
