State, deputy U.S. ag secretary to announce Helene disaster aid today

State Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler will join U.S. Deputy Agriculture Secretary Stephen Vaden Friday at the Mountain State Fair for what was billed as a major announcement about federal disaster assistance for Western North Carolina to cover Hurricane Helene damage. The announcement is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on the AgSouth Farm Credit Mountain Music Stage at the WNC Agricultural Center in Fletcher.
