Pardee, AdventHealth competing to provide cardiac catheterization

Both UNC Health Pardee and AdventHealth Hendersonville have applied to state regulators to provide the cardiac catheterization unit the 2025 State Medical Facilities Plan says is needed in in Henderson County.

The two applicants have filed certificate of need applications with the NC. Department of Health and Human Services to acquire one unit of cardiac catheterization equipment. The applicants propose two projects: 

  • Henderson County Hospital Corp., the legal name of Pardee, proposes to acquire one unit of cardiac catheterization equipment to be located at Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital. The project is expected to cost $4.7 million and would be completed in March 2027.
  • Fletcher Hospital Inc. proposes to acquire one unit of cardiac catheterization equipment to be located at AdventHealth Hendersonville. The project is expected to cost $2 million and would be completed in January 2027.

A public hearing on the applicartions will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, in Kaplan Auditorium at the Henderson County Main Library, 301 North Washington St. Anyone may file written comments concerning these proposals. Comments must be received by the Healthcare Planning and Certificate of Need Section no later than 5 p.m. on Oct. 1.
