Governor's committee on Helene recovery meets here Monday

The Governor’s Advisory Committee on Western North Carolina Recovery will meet from 10:35 a.m. to noon Monday at BRCC's Blue Ridge Conference Hall, 49 East Campus Drive.

Based on formal and informal public input from a diverse array of affected people, the committee advises Gov. Josh Stein on strategies to address the needs of communities affected by Hurricane Helene, including housing; small businesses; roads, bridges, and other infrastructure; near- and long-term relief funding; cross-sector coordination; accountability and transparency; and other issues. 

The public is welcome to attend and observe. There will not be an opportunity for public comment, but questions and feedback can be submitted to wncrecovery@nc.gov. 

Free visitor parking is available in Lots D and C, adjacent to the Technology, Education and Development Center on the Henderson County Campus. ASL interpretation, CART transcription, and Spanish interpretation will be offered.
