Nominations open for Education Hall of Fame

The Henderson County Education Foundation is accepting nominations through Jan. 7 for the 2026 Education Hall of Fame, the nonprofit announced.

Founded in 2003, the Education Hall of Fame honors individuals whose vision, leadership and contributions have transformed education in Henderson County, setting a standard of excellence that has profoundly advanced the field. Since its founding, more than 150 teachers, administrators, support staff, school board members, volunteers and champions of education have been inducted. Each year, up to five individuals are recognized for their transformative impact and lasting legacy.
Nominees must have served Henderson County Public Schools in a paid, volunteer or auxiliary role for a minimum of 10 years and must have last actively served in the nominated category five years ago or more, whether through retirement, separation or death. Nominations should clearly demonstrate the nominee’s outstanding leadership, service and extraordinary contributions. Categories for nomination are:

  • Teacher and/or administrator
  • Support personnel (such as teacher assistants, child nutrition staff, bus drivers and administrative assistants)
  • Volunteer
  • Champion of Education

Community members are invited to submit nominations online at hcefnc.org/our-work/hall-of-fame/. Complete details on eligibility, categories and the selection process can also be found on the website. The inductees will be formally honored at the Education Celebration on April 23 at Blue Ridge Community College. The 2026 Hall of Fame induction will hold special significance as the foundation celebrates its 40th anniversary of serving Henderson County public schools.
