City invites residents to apply for advisory board service

The Hendersonville City Council invites residents to participate in local government by serving on a board, committee or commission.

The city is accepting applications for a variety of board appointments, some of which have immediate openings. Applications received by 5 p.m. Nov. 21 will be considered at the council’s Dec. 4 meeting.

While most board seats are filled by people who live in the city limits, some are filled by residents of the extraterritorial jurisdiction and unincorporated Henderson County. For residency requirements and information on each board’s purpose and meeting schedule, visit the city’s website.

Applicants of all backgrounds with unique perspectives are encouraged to apply. Applicants are also encouraged to review the meeting schedules and residency requirements before applying to ensure they are available to become board members.

Board meetings are open to the public, and anyone interested in seeing how an advisory board operates is welcome to attend a meeting. Locations and meeting schedules are listed on the website calendar at https://www.hendersonvillenc.gov/events-calendar.

  • Animal Services Advisory Committee
