Carriage rides on Main Street are one of many ways to celebrate the holidays downtown this year.
Santa Claus will make his grand entrance on Main Street in Hendersonville on Friday, November 28 for the annual tree lighting at the Historic Courthouse Plaza.
Visitors to downtown are encouraged to watch the night sky and follow the sweeping lights to catch his arrival, according to the City of Hendersonville.
Festivities begin at 5 p.m. with the lively sounds of Drayton & The Dreamboats. Santa is expected to arrive just before 6 p.m. to lead the countdown, followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree and Main Street at 6 p.m.
Following the tree lighting, the festivities continue with visits with Santa inside the Historic Courthouse and complimentary carriage rides provided by Carolina Horse and Carriage. Both activities will be available until 8 p.m., offering families plenty of time to enjoy the evening.
To complete the holiday experience, the city suggests that visitors warm up with hot cocoa, hot cider and an assortment of sweet treats available for purchase from A Wild Moose Cafe, Black Bear Coffee and Mini Batch Bakery.
