Jabil, one of the world’s largest healthcare manufacturing solutions providers, plans to expand its operations in Garrison Industrial Park off Upward Road near I-26, the company announced.
The company plans to invest more than $102 million in a plant expansion and equipment and create over 148 jobs with average wages exceeding $62,000 a year. The new 180,000-square-foot facility will be located at the company’s existing site at the industrial park created in a joint project of the city, county and Partnership for Economic Development.
Jabil’s Henderson County facility manufactures precision injection molded components that are subsequently assembled via high-speed automated assembly lines and shipped to customers in the healthcare industry.
“The Partnership celebrates Jabil as they continue to flourish and expand,” Partnership board chair John Bryant said. “And we are especially proud of this announcement as it marks the largest investment total in a single year for Henderson County. It’s a great way to kick off the start of the Partnership’s 20th year.”
The Garrison Industrial Park land, a former orchard, was purchased in 2020 as part of a historic, three-party agreement between Henderson County, city of Hendersonville and the Economic Investment Fund of Henderson County, an affiliate of the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development, to set aside land for industrial development and job creation.
“Henderson County is proud to support advanced manufacturing employers like Jabil that continue to invest in our community and provide high-quality career opportunities for our residents,” said Bill Lapsley, chair of the Henderson County Board of Commissioners. “This longstanding partnership reflects the proactive collaboration between our economic development team and elected leaders, helping create an environment where businesses can grow and succeed.”
