Pedestrian struck on Spartanburg Highway dies of injuries

A 48-year-old pedestrian died from injuries she suffered after being struck by a car on Spartanburg Highway near Nelson Street, the city said in a news release.

Hendersonville police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at 7:30 p.m. The pedestrian, Jennifer Lynn Summey of Hendersonville, was seriously injured as a result and was immediately transported to Mission Hospital for treatment. Summey died from her injuries later that night. 

Police concluded their investigation and determined no charges would be filed against the driver.
