Empty Bowls fundraiser is Sunday in Flat Rock

The Empty Bowls fundraiser benefitting the Flat Rock Backpack Program takes place Sunday, May 17, in the Parish Hall of the Episcopal Church of St. John in the Wilderness in Flat Rock.

Advance tickets are strongly recommended. The noon to 2 p.m. seating is sold out. The 4 to 6 p.m. seating had 42 tickets on Monday. Attendees may arrive any time during their seating window. Each ticket includes a choice of one hand-crafted bowl, donated by area potters, and a soup-based meal with a variety of soups, breads and homemade cookies. A takeout option is also available. Tickets, $30 per person, are available here. Children under 12 eat free. The Parish Hall is at 1905 Greenville Highway across the street from the church.
