Lorena Magdaly Rodriguez Granados
An East Flat Rock father is awaiting extradition from Louisiana on a child abuse charge after his 22-month-old daughter was seriously injured, according to Henderson County Sheriff’s Department.
The child, Luna Rodriguez, remained in critical condition at Mission Hospital on Friday.
“The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office asks the community to keep Luna in their thoughts and prayers,” according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.
Investigators charged Luna’s father, 30-year-old Hector Armando Romero Castillo of East Flat Rock, with felony child abuse inflicting serious injury after being made aware on Thursday of the injuries his daughter suffered.
Castillo was located and arrested in Louisiana with the assistance of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. He is awaiting extradition to North Carolina.
Detectives also charged the girl’s mother, 35-year-old Lorena Magdaly Rodriguez Granados, of East Flat Rock, with felony obstruction of justice and felony accessory after the fact.
Granados was being held in Henderson County’s Detention Center on Friday under a $300,000 secured bond.
