First Blue Ridge Beer Festival set for Saturday

The first Blue Ridge Beer Festival featuring 20 or more breweries, live music and food trucks is set for 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at Blue Ridge Beer Garden, 402 S. Church St.

Among the taps for the day are fan favorites like Other Half Brewing, Burial Beer Co., Wicked Weed Brewing, Sierra Nevada, Fonta Flora, Lawson's Finest Liquids, and more. The Apple Country String Band plays at 1:30 p.m. followed by Phuncle Sam, an Asheville-based Grateful Dead tribute band, at 4.

A VIP ticket ($76.02) buys early entry at 1p.m., 25 additional exclusive taps to sample and a swag-packed gift bag. Regular admission tickets ($60.07) covers admission at 2 p.m.
