LAKE SUMMIT — Officers from the Henderson County Sheriff's Office arrested a 21-year-old Zirconia man and charged him with the theft of a Boston Whaler, $1,100 bicycle, a flat-screen TV and other items from the Lake Summit area.

William Cody Clark of 382 Old Greenville Highway faces 18 charges after deputies got a call about a man, apparently impaired, lying in a ditch near the Green River Fire Department. He had a small amount of marijuana, pills and a boat key in his pockets. Deputies took him into custody and on the way to the jail received a call that a man matching his description was seen in the area of South Lake Summit earlier that morning on a bicycle.

Further investigation revealed that Clark had broken into several different residences and buildings around Lake Summit. In addition to the boat, officers recovered a flat screen TV and other electronics, an $1100 Trek bicycle, walkie-talkie, flashlight, a boat key belonging to a pontoon boat from Camp Greystone.

Clark was charged with six counts of felonious breaking and entering, four counts of felonious larceny after breaking and entering, four counts of felonious possession of stolen property, three counts of misdemeanor injury to personal property and one count of felonious larceny of a 2003 Boston Whaler boat belonging to Camp Greystone.

Clark remains in jail under $57,500 bond.
