Henderson County sheriff's deputies charged an 18-year-old man with the stabbing of a woman at a residence in Mills River on Tuesday.
Responding to a 911 call to the home, deputies found a female victim inside suffering from stab wounds to her left arm and chest. Deputies provided first aid until EMS arrived and took over medical care. The victim was transported to Mission Hospital with injuries that were determined to be non-life-threatening.
The suspect, Harrison West, was taken into custody at the scene without incident. The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to conduct a thorough investigation and process the scene.
Deputies charged West with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He was transported to the Henderson County Detention Facility and later appeared before a magistrate in Henderson County District Court, where he received a $40,000 secured bond.
