Courthouse going blue for Autism Awareness

The Historic Courthouse will be lit blue in recognition of National Autism Awareness Month starting Wednesday.

At its March 17 meeting, the Henderson County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution formally designating April as Autism Awareness Month in Henderson County and authorizing the blue lighting during the month.

Adam Farris, director of Ability Shirts, a non-profit organization in Henderson County that believes that "No one has a (dis)ability, but everyone has abilities," asked the Henderson County staff about the idea of recognizing the month. For more information please visit www.abilityshirts.org.
