Club offers Tour d'Apple training rides

Four Seasons Rotary Club and Sycamore Cycles will lead a bicycling training ride from Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21. The free training rides will continue on subsequent Saturdays starting at 9 a.m. from the Blue Sky MD parking lot on King Street across from Sycamore Cycles.

Sycamore Cycles, Blue Sky MD, Ingles Markets and Carmichael Training Systems offer the training rides to help cyclists prepare to ride one of four Tour d'Apple bicycle routes on Labor Day. Ingles Markets and the Rotary Club will provide refreshments at the start locations for the shorter rides or at a midway rest stop on the longer rides. Restroom facilities will also be available.
Cyclists are encouraged to visit the Tour d'Apple website (www.tourdapple) for more details about the training rides and the Rotary cycling tour on Labor Day. No training ride will occur on July 5. Early registrants for the Tour d'Apple will receive a 10-week training plan, developed by Carmichael Training Systems, a team of premier cycling coaches in Brevard. The training plan will help cyclists prepare for the Tour d'Apple longer routes.
