Robbers whack victim with golf club

Two local man were jailed under bonds of more than $300,000 after Henderson County Sheriff's detectives charged them with whacking a robbery victim in the face with a golf club, holding a box cutter to his throat and forcing him to withdraw money from an ATM machine on July 30.


The victim of the assault and robbery told investigators one of the suspects contacted him and invited him to come to his residence and look at some construction materials he had for sale. Once the victim went to the location, he was struck in the face with a golf club and had a box cutter held to his throat. The victim was driven to a nearby ATM machine and forced to make a cash withdrawal and then driven to a nearby convenience store and forced to purchase cigarettes.
The victim was released by the suspects and sought medical attention for a broken jaw a broken jaw. He has been released from the hospital.

Charged were Lafoy "Buzzy" Ball of Horse Shoe and Eddie Ellenburg of Hendersonville.
Ball and Ellenburg are being held in the Henderson County jail. Ball, of Horse Shoe, has been charged with felony robbery with dangerous weapon, felony assault with deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony conspiracy, robbery with dangerous weapon, two counts felony first degree kidnapping, felony conspiracy and first degree kidnapping and is being held under a $316,000 secured bond.
Ellenburg, of Hendersonville, has been charged with felony robbery with dangerous weapon, felony assault with deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony conspiracy, robbery with dangerous weapon, two counts of felony first degree kidnapping, felony conspiracy and first degree kidnapping and is being held under a $367,000 secured bond.
