Three charged in Etowah Park theft

Sheriff's deputies arrested two teenagers and obtained warrants on a third man in connection with the theft of $1,000 worth of baseball equipment from Etowah Community Park on Jan. 2.

The Henderson County Sheriff's Office received a report of vandalism and larceny from a storage building at the park on Jan. 2 and found that sports equipment worth more than $1000 and owned by Henderson County Youth Softball Association had been stolen from the damaged building.

Christina Nowak Christina Nowak The stolen sports equipment was recovered on Monday. A joint investigation by Brevard police and Henderson County detectives resulted in arrest warrants on the following individuals:

  • MacArthur Blake Thomas, 19 : possession of stolen property, felony larceny, two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of felony conspiracy.
  • Christina Michaela Nowak,18: possession of stolen property, felony larceny, two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of felony conspiracy.
  • Andrew Craig Smith, 25: possession of stolen property, felony larceny, two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of felony conspiracy.

Thomas MacArthurMacArthur Blake ThomasThomas and Nowak are currently in custody in the Transylvania County Detention Facility. Smith has not been taken into custody. Anyone with information on Smith's whereabouts was asked to contact the Henderson County Sheriff's Office at 828-697-4911.
