Park offers free Sandburg home tours on MLK Day

Tours of the home at the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site will be free on Monday as national parks across the country honor the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday by waiving admission fees.

Tour fees of the Sandburg Home will be waived for this holiday and eight more days throughout 2015.
Fee free days at the Sandburg Home and all national parks will also be offered during Presidents Day weekend (Feb. 14-16), National Park Week first weekend (April 18-19), National Park Service Birthday (Aug. 25), National Public Lands Day (Sept. 26), and Veterans Day (Nov. 11). There is never a fee to visit the grounds, trails or farm. Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily. For information, call  828-693-4178 or visit www.nps.gov/carl.
