Schools closed, commissioners, TDA cancel meetings

Henderson County schools are closed on Wednesday as the icy snowfall continued to cause a multitude of cancellations.

Among the boards canceling meetings were the Tourism Development Commission and the Board of Commissioners. Those meetings were critical to the Flat Rock Playhouse, which is awaiting word on whether both bodies will pitch in for an emergency allocation to clean mold from buildings at the State Theatre. The TDA will now take up a request to appropriate $24,000 next week. The Board of Commissioners does not meet again until March 2.
