Clerk of Superior Court Kim Gasperson-Justice administered the oath of office to all three returning Henderson County Board of Elections members during a swearing-in-ceremony Tuesday.
Henderson County Board of Elections Director Beverly Cunningham, staff, family members and friends stood by as members took the oath for new two-year terms. During an organizational meeting immediately after the swearing-in, the board re-elected Robert Heltman as chair and re-elected Deborah Dante as secretary. Municipal elections will be held this fall and local, state and national elections will be held in 2016, including a new presidential primary expected to be held next March. The Board and staff will attend a required statewide training of all 100 counties in Winston-Salem in mid-August to prepare for upcoming elections.
