Shop local, win a prize

Residents who shop and dine at Henderson County stores and restaurants through Dec. 18 can enter a drawing to win a gift package.

Each $100 you spend with Henderson County merchants from Nov. 22 to Dec. 18 entitles you to fill out an entry for a drawing sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. Just bring your receipts to the Chamber office at 204 Kanuga Road to enter. A winner will be drawn on Dec. 21.

Shoppers can enter multiple times, as long as their receipts total $100 or more each time. The contest goal is to encourage people to spend their holiday shopping dollars locally, so there are some items that won't qualify: fuel, groceries, prescriptions and real estate. But some big purchases like cars do qualify.
