Horizon Heating & Air announces $18,000 in grants

Twenty-two agencies will receive awards of $500 or $1,000 as Horizon Heating and Air Conditioning and Trane partners with the Community Foundation of Henderson County to distribute a total of $18,000 to local non-profits.

The program, implemented last year, requires interested non-profits to submit applications from which winners are chosen by a committee. This year’s funds increased significantly through the partnership with Trane, allowing a greater number of recipients.

The recipients for 2016 are:

  • January- Henderson County Education Foundation, $1000 / Kenmure Fights Cancer, $500
  • February- Vocational Solutions of Henderson County, $1000
  • March- Hendersonville Family YMCA, $1000 / The Mountain Community School, $500
  • April- Safelight, $1000 / Shriners Hospitals for Children, $500
  • May- Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County, $1000 / Homeward Bound of WNC, $1000
  • June- Thrive, $1000 / Camplify(formerly Henderson County Young Leaders Program), $1000
  • July- St. Gerard House, $1000 / Council on Aging, $500
  • August- Fletcher Academy, $1000 / Connestee Falls Student Scholarship Program, $1000
  • September- Apple Country Woodcrafters, $1000 / Blue Ridge Literacy Council, $500
  • October- Children & Family Resource Center, $1000
  • November- Saluda Historic Depot, $1000
  • December- Henderson County Hunger Coalition, $500 / Park Ridge Health Foundation, $500 / Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Henderson County, $500
