Deputies seek suspect in store robbery

EAST FLAT ROCK — Sheriff's deputies are seeking an older white male who robbed King's Grocery at 2040 Old Spartanburg Road at 1:40 p.m. today and drove off in a black truck.

The suspect was described as about 6-4 with a salt-and pepper-beard. He was wearing a hat, black jacket and black pants and left the store in a newer model, 2-door black truck, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

Earlier this afternoon, a precautionary lockdown was instated on the East Henderson High School campus. No students or faculty were in danger. The lockdown has been lifted and multiple Henderson County Sheriff's Office Deputies remain on the school's campus.

The robbery investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information on the suspect's identity or whereabouts was urged to contact the Henderson County Sheriff's Office at 828.697.4911.
