84-room Fairfield Inn planned for Upward Road

Upward Road will be getting a new hotel if plans submitted by a developer win city approval.
Satis Patel and Olmedo Vargas and their company, Flat Rock Hospitality LLC, have submitted a site plan and a request for annexation so the property, on the northeast corner of the I-26 interchange, can connect to the city sewer system, said Dave Hazzard, senior planner for the city of Hendersonville. Plans show a four-story Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott with 84 rooms, an indoor pool and breakfast area. The applicants were trying to get a completed application in time for review by the Planning Board on July 11 and approval by the City Council on Aug. 4, Hazzard said.
Flat Rock Hospitality bought the two-acre parcel from Bob Quattlebaum for $800,000 in May.
