April showers bring drought relief

After an upgrade in drought conditions, the city of Hendersonville is lifting the voluntary water restrictions that have remained in effect since last Oct. 17.

U.S. Drought Monitor for North Carolina upgraded drought conditions for Henderson County from moderate drought to abnormally dry, after the area received much needed rainfall over the past month.

“We are pleased to lift these restrictions, but want to continue to encourage conservation efforts with our customers,” Utilities Director Lee Smith said. “Conserving water is the right thing to do at all times and since water is a precious natural resource we are asking everyone to respect this resource.”
