Laurel Park OKs paving, repairs

The Laurel Park Town Council authorized a contract of $225,665 for paving work in the fiscal year that starts July 1.The low bid was made by Tarheel Paving, which beat those submitted by JLS and the Rogers Group.
The new fiscal year 2018 budget allocates $235,000 for road paving, $6,500 for materials and $55,000 for storm drainage repairs. The repaving includes:
• Sunny Ridge Road from lower curve to the end of the road
• Canal Drive from intersection with Crystal Springs to beyond intersection with Lake Drive
• Walnut Loop – Part 1 from intersection with Davis Mount to Crystal Springs
• Walnut Loop – Part 2 from intersection with Crystal Springs uphill toward Cliff Drive
• Kermit Edney from intersection with Lake Drive to intersection with Woodbyne Lane
• Hemlock Trail from intersection with Blackberry to the end of the road
• Spruce Pine
• General patching in various locations
If the town has money left over, the next priorities are:
• Pinewood Circle from western intersection with Laurel Park Highway to beginning of new pavement
• Orchard Circle from intersection with East Ramp to Scenic Lane
• Intersection of Roberts and Laurel Park Highway
• Silk Tree Road
• Apple Lane/Laurel Park Highway intersection
• South Drive at intersection with Hebron
• Alta Circle
• Sabine Drive patch areas
• Sabine Drive west of intersection with Elm
• Rainbow Lake Drive from Rhododendron Drive to Arbutus Lane
• Rowland Drive patch areas
• Laurel Park Highway from lower Roberts Dr. intersection to Elm Lane
• Laurel Park Highway Eastbound Lane only from Beechwood Circle approximately 75’ toward Indian Woods Trail
• Crystal Springs Drive Eastbound Lane only from Beechwood Circle approximately 75”toward Indian Woods Trail
• Birchwood Drive intersection with Pinewood Circle to the cul de sac
• Echo Circle from intersection with Echo Drive
