Repairs on Blythe Street bridge to continue to July 28

The N.C. Department of Transportation expect to be working on repairs to a small bridget on Blythe Street until July 28.

Crews will replace the timber decking and repave the short stretch of Blythe Street, which connects Haywood Road and Brevard Road on the western border of Hendersonville. The work will remove large bumps and improve the structural integrity of the bridge.

A two-mile marked detour will direct northbound traffic into Hendersonville and then to N.C. 191. Southbound traffic will be advised to take N.C. 191 into Hendersonville then U.S. 64 to the west.

Transportation officials remind motorists to obey all posted signs, the instructions of flaggers, and allow extra time for short delays.
