City announces repaving work

Paving crews will be resurfacing or repairing city streets in Hendersonville through mid-September. Some streets will get a new layer of asphalt overlaying the existing surface, while other streets may be milled down before a layer of new asphalt is applied. The repaving work includes two city streets that lead to the new Ingles store from Greenville Highway.

Construction will begin the week of July 21 with the majority of the work to be completed by the mid September. Paving contractor Tarheel Paving of Hendersonville will notify businesses and residents of a more specific schedule as it pertains to their street. The lists of streets being affected are as follows:
Streets to be resurfaced include:
1st Avenue from Washington to S Whitted
3rd Avenue from Fleming to Blythe
Whitted St from Dale to Hwy 64
Oak St from 1st Ave to Hwy 64
Taylor St from 3rd to 4th Ave
Ehringhaus St from 3rd to 4th Ave
Fleming from 3rd to 4th Ave
Jones St From S Whitted to 3rd Ave
S Justice from 1st to 3rd Ave
S Justice from 4th to 5th Ave
Florida Ave from Oak to Justice
Washington St from 1st Ave to Allen St
Joel Wright Dr from Hwy 225 to end maintenance.
