Sheriff's deputies seek shooter in Holbert Road murder

Sheriff’s deputies are seeking a suspect in a shooting that killed a 28-year-old Hendersonville man.

 

The shooting occurred on Holbert Road at 8:15 a.m. Thursday. The suspect is a black male, approximately 5’7” and 130 lbs. with short black hair and brown eyes, wearing black pants and a blue shirt, the sheriff’s said. The suspect left the scene in a black 2008 Volkswagen Jetta with NC tag FBR4499. The sheriff's office identified the suspected shooter as Davonte Gary Redfern, 26.

The victim died was transported to Mission Hospital, where he died of the gunshot wounds. The sheriff's identified him as Tristan Kayne Edney, age 28 of Kingswood Dr. in Hendersonville, has succumbed to his injuries.
