Junk Man’s Christmas
concert benefits IAM

Peter Mayer performs a benefit concert for IAM Nov. 30 at Grace Lutheran Church.

Guitarist and singer Peter Mayer of the Peter Mayer Group and Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band is bringing his 19th annual Stars and Promises Christmas Tour to Grace Lutheran Church on Friday, Nov. 30. Mayer’s band will perform timeless carols, original songs and stories from 7 to 9 p.m. to celebrate the magical Christmas season.

Grace Lutheran’s Lutheran Men in Mission group, organizers of the concert, selected Interfaith Assistance Ministry as the beneficiary of the concert’s proceeds. All ticket sales will directly go to IAM, Henderson County’s largest nonprofit provider of crisis services for local residents in financial crisis.
The concert theme is a Junk Man’s Christmas, based on true stories from Mayer’s childhood which took him across the globe with his missionary parents.
“This is going to be a magical evening of music,” said Hal Derrick, president of the National Lutheran Men in Mission and a leader of Men in Mission at Grace. He has heard Mayer’s band perform at national events and gotten to know him. He has spent the last year working on logistics and securing sponsors to pay for the band and their lodging in Hendersonville.
Tickets are $30 per person. To purchase tickets, visit https://www.itickets.com/events/407484.html. For more information, call Grace Lutheran Church at (828)-698-4890 or IAM at 697-7029.
