Spruce Pine man dies in Parkway collision

A 31-year-old Spruce Pine man died just before dawn today in a collision on the Blue Ridge Parkway, the National Park Service said.

Christopher Pallick was traveling northbound in a curve near Milepost 331 at 6:30 a.m. when his vehicle crossed left of center and struck an oncoming vehicle. Pallick was transported to Spruce Pine Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The driver from the second vehicle was transported to the same hospital and was treated and released, the park service said, adding that no other details were available.
